Themeable Axis Colours

It is now possible (as of r.52026) to customise the axis colours as part of your theme. The main benefit is that now you can tweak these colours so that they are more visible than the old hardcoded ones (a bit of an annoyance of mine with the old colours used). For example:

Default colours - Note how badly the dark blue tends to fade into the background.

A "softer" set - These are all a bit more visible (and are in fact closer to some of the ones I've seen in other software)

Likewise, you can adjust for darker themes (ZBrush theme used here)...

Or even swap the colour of the "up" axis (if you must :P)

  1. Nice! A customisable 3D widget ( taken from eg widget.blend with named models for translate_x, rotate_y etc ) could be the next step.

People could go crazy with eg gothic / retro / space age gizmo designs :)

  2. This is really nice. It would be great to have also all previous pre 2.5 functionality back - realtime visual reference when you use widget, no it disapears. This is really bad for example for gimbal lock detection etc.
